National Sports Museum (Sri Lanka)

The Sri Lanka Sports Ministry is on the threshold of inaugurating its first National Sports Museum with a digitized Sports Archives using Sir F. R. Senanayake’s (freedom fighter of the Island) Bungalow in front of the Independence Hall. Sri Lanka is a tropical Country (an Island) with a heritage of over 2500 years and one time a British Colony as “Ceylon”. The Ministry of Sports celebrates the Golden Jubilee of its existence this year and the National Sports Museum will be a fitting monument to mark this historic landmark for Sri Lanka. We will expand this National Sports Museum as the Hub of Sports Museums of the South Asian Region by 2020.
